More Mapping in 4th Grade

4th Graders are learning that working in groups on projects can be very challenging. I like it when the class takes time each day to reflect on what went well with the project and what needs more work. On the whole, the class is enjoying this project, but they've discovered that it is challenging to work with others to get the job the done! The most repeated comment during the reflection time today was that they need to listen to each other! Hang in there 4th Grade! Tomorrow is a new day with fresh beginnings!

Here's the HOMEWORK CHALLENGE:

Pennsylvania has 5 geographic land regions that we've been learning about and putting on the maps. Can you write all 5 names? In which region is Williamsport located? Write this answer in a complete sentence. Sign your name and hand this in to Mrs. Kuzio in the morning.

See you all tomorrow!

And get some good rest...we have the Reading 4-Sight test in the morning!

4th Grade Mapping PA Project

Pennsylvania Map Project
4th Grade has been busily learning about the 5 different land regions of Pennsylvania as well as the major cities and rivers of the state.

Now 4th Grade is putting their learning down on paper and creating some very large and interesting maps of Pennsylvania. Stop by the Northwest corner of the building to check out these budding cartographers!

News about AR

Family and Friends:

As you may know at Stevens we're BIG fans of the Accelerated Reading program. The kids and teachers refer to it as AR. Now there is a site that you can visit to determine if the book youare reading is listed as an AR book and thus will have a test and points. The site is:
ARbookfind.com

Just type it in and you can look up books! Happy Reading!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK

Happy Monday All!

Today was the beginning of American Education Week.

Mr. Felix kicked-off the week by having the whole school assemble at the flag pole this morning for a special Pledge of Allegiance and Proclamation.

Remember as a part of this week's events, if you would like to visit our classroom, you are welcome tomorrow morning or Thursday afternoon -- just sign in at the office and come on up!
Also, in the spirit of American Education Week, all students and staff are asked to wear a college sweatshirt tomorrow! So join in the fun and throw on your favorite comfy, college-wear!

** Reminder for students **
Tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. you will take the Math portion of the 4-Sight test.

Homework Challenge:
Today in Social Studies we talked about the 5 land regions in Pennsylvania. If you can tell me the region that Philadelphia is in and the region that Pittsburgh is in you could earn a reward.

Write the region that Philadelphia is in and write the region that Pittsburgh is in. Sign your name and hand this in to Mrs. Kuzio. Good Luck!

See you all in the morning. Get plenty of rest tonight!

Mrs. Kuzio.

Things to Think About

Good Morning Everyone!

Next week on Tuesday, November 17th and Thursday, November 19th I will give the second set of 4 Sight tests. These tests are great tools that help get the students ready to take the PSSA tests in the spring. These 4 Sight tests also help teachers see how well students are doing learning the many concepts that are taught in 4th Grade. Families can help with these tests by making sure their kids are getting plenty of rest each night.

Thanks for all you do 4th Grade Families! Have a Great Weekend!
