Finding Math LandMarks!

Who knew that counting raisins could be soooo much fun?!! 4th Graders find the Maximum number of raisins, the Minimum number of raisins, the Mode and the Range. WAY TO GO 4TH GRADE!!

EveryDay Math

One skill that we will practice at the beginning of the year is rote knowledge of addition and substraction facts. You can help your child by using flashcards to practice these facts.

Remind your student that they can always visit Study Island at http://www.studyisland.com/ to practice their math skills. We always have assignments posted for them on this site.

You can visit Mrs. Geary's website: jgeary@wasd.org to find links to excellent Math websites to practice all your math facts.

AR and Independent Reading

Every student in our classroom has the opportunity to read independently every day during the school day. We also want all the students to read at home EVERY night. Each student should read a minimum of 30 minutes each evening. MORE time spent reading would be even BETTER!

they do their reading. Remind your child that

READING IS THINKING!

We'd like each student to notice two things in their reading to write about on the ThinkMark each night.
